Fees Associated with Participating in the RockHounds

The Wisconsin RockHounds is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.  As such, teams are funded directly from the player fees assessed during the beginning of the season.  Our coaches, managers and other leaders within the organization volunteer their time and expertise to continually assists players develop their skills.

Yearly expenses for the Rockhounds travel tournament team run about $10,000 per season.  Being a 501c3 gives each team a big advantage in helping with fundraising, such as requests for charitable contributions, corporate sponsorships and sales of fundraising items to help cover the expenses.  Generally each player's family will contribute a minimum of $750 directly for that player, but if the team is aggressive in fundraising they can greatly reduce their own out of pocket expenses.

Player fees fund:

  • Team Insurance necessary to participate in tournaments and league play 
  • Practice Facility Rentals
  • Outdoor Field Rentals
  • Umpire Fees (for teams that participate in a league as well as tournaments.
  • Full Uniforms for each of the players, which includes hat, belt, pants, jerseys, shirts, socks, bat bags, wind jackets, etc.
  • All costs associated with tournament participation
  • Equipment  as necessary for the team
